Adventurer Marco Polo travels to China, where he finds the Emperor Kublai Khan, court intrigue, danger, and unexpected love. Samuel Goldwyn Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Samuel Goldwyn and George Haight. The Adventures of Marco Polo is written by Robert E. Sherwood and N.a. Pogson and it is directed by Archie Mayo and John Ford. United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the film. The motion picture has a running time of 100 minutes. The Adventures of Marco Polo was made on a budget of $2 million. Cinematography was done by Rudolph Mat and Archie Stout and editing by Fred Allen. The music was composed by Hugo Friedhofer.

      The film bombs as its not helped by a thin script from noted playwright Robert E. Sherwood, a lame free wheeling short story by N.A. Pogso and a miscast Gary Cooper playing Marco Polo as if it were a western and not a tale about a swashbuckler.In spite of its gorgeous sets and ambitions to go from melodrama to comedy, everything seemed flat and as soft as boiled pasta.
