A father takes hostages after his insurance provider and employer refuse to cover his sons 15-lakh rupee heart transplant, but a politician offers to donate their heart to save the boy. Tathastu is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language Drama Crime movie featuring Sanjay Dutt, Ameesha Patel, Jaya Prada, Gulshan Grover, Darshan Jariwala, Amit Divatia and Kuldeep Sareen. The movie is inspired from John Q. The Forge was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Nitin Manmohan. The movie is directed by Anubhav Sinha. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the film. Tathastu was released on 13th May 2006. Tathastu was made on a budget of ₹11 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹1 crore. Cinematography was done by Ravi Walia and editing by Sanjib Datta. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Shekhar Ravjiani along with Vishal Dadlani, Vishal Shekhar and Ranjit Barot.
