Tahader Katha

A freedom fighter named Shibnath, who was imprisoned for killing a British officer, goes through the challenges of the Partition of India, becoming a refugee and settling in rural West Bengal, while struggling with his health and being disconnected from his family and colleagues. Tahader Katha is a 1992 Indian Bengali-language Drama Comedy movie starring Mithun Chakraborty, Anashua Mujumdar, Dipankar De, Subrata Nandy, Deboshri Bhattacharya, Ashok Mukherjee and Soumitra Chatterjee. Entertainment One in association with Sony Pictures Television, Paramount Pictures, Lukas Reiter Productions, AXN Original Productions and Shaw Media. were the production houses involved in the project. Tahader Katha is written by Buddhadev Dasgupta, Kamal Kumar Majumdar and Biswadep Dasgupta and it is directed by Buddhadev Dasgupta. Entertainment One International acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Tahader Katha was released on 1st January 1992 and takes a screen time of 180 mins. Cinematography was done by Venu. The music was composed by Biswadep Dasgupta. At the 1993 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Actor (Mithun Chakraborty).
