Tagaru a 2018 Kannada action-drama which stars Shiva Rajkumar in the lead role along with Manvitha Harish, Bhavana Menon, Dhananjay, Vasishta N. Simha in supporting roles. The film was written and directed by Duniya Soori. Mahendra Simha served as the director of photography and Deepu S. Kumar has edited the film. The story is about a sincere police officer who sets out to kill a criminal. At the same time, a young girl falls in love with him the incidents that happen thereafter forms the essence of the film. Charan Raj composed the music and Venus Entertainers was involved in the making of the film. Director M. Muthaiah acquired the copyrights for Tamil remake and plans to cast Vijay Sethupati or Karthi as the main lead. The movie which was made on a budget of ₹8 crores collected ₹11.5 crores in four days. It was released on 23 February 2018 and has a running time of 129 minutes. An untitled film was announced as a sequel to this movie.
