Swathi Muthyam

An autistic orphan named Shivaiah marries a young widow named Lalitha against the opposition of the Orthodox villagers, and they build a happy life together until Lalitha dies, leaving Shivaiah with a tulsi plant as a memory of her love. Poornodaya Movie Creations was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Edida Nageswara Rao. Swathi Muthyam is written by Sainath Thotapalli and K. Viswanath and it is directed by K. Viswanath. Sri Venkata Krishna Films acquired the distribution rights for the film. Swathi Muthyam was released on 13th March 1986 and takes a screen time of 161 minutes. Cinematography was done by M. V. Raghu and editing by G. G. Krishna Rao. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja. At the 1987 South Filmfare Awards It won an award for Best Director.
