Cody Maverick, a penguin surfer, idolizes a group of extreme surfers called The Hang 5, invites them to a party, but later learns they are on a dangerous journey to ride a rogue wave; after encountering various obstacles, Cody returns to warn his friends and eventually chooses to stay with them rather than accepting a tempting offer. Sony Pictures Animation in association with WWE Studios. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Michelle L.m. Wong. Surfs Up 2: WaveMania is written by Abdul Williams and directed by Henry Yu. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. Surfs Up 2: WaveMania was released on 17th January 2017 and takes a screen time of 84 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $1 million. Editing was done by Mark Yeager.
