A penguin named Cody dreams of becoming a professional surfer and makes friends for a surfing contest on Pen-Gu Island, where he finds love, faces a champion, and learns valuable lessons about friendship and the joy of the sport. Surfs Up is a 2007 American English-language Animation Comedy motion picture featuring Shia Labeouf, Jeff Bridges, Zooey Deschanel, Jon Heder, James Woods, Diedrich Bader and Nikki Rapp. Sony Pictures Animation was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Chris Jenkins. Surfs Up is written by Don Rhymer, Ash Brannon, Chris Buck, Christopher Jenkins and Christian Darren and it is directed by Ash Brannon and Chris Buck. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Surfs Up was released on 20th June 2007 and takes a screen time of 85 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Surfs Up was made on a budget of $100 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $152 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Don Rhymer, Ash Brannon, Chris Buck and Chris Jenkins. The films nearly all bird world is pleasantly amusing I liked Mario Cantone as a twitchy little sandpiper and its mockumentary motif affords some laughs for parents, but really the movie is as evanescent as sea foam. ( Read More )
