After being temporarily removed from command, Captain Kirk and Spock are reinstated to stop John Harrison, who is revealed to be Khan Noonien Singh, a genetically enhanced superhuman, from starting a war with the Klingons, resulting in Kirk sacrificing himself and ultimately being revived using Khans regenerative blood. J. Abrams and Bryan Burk. Star Trek Into Darkness is written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof and Gene Roddenberry and it is directed by J.j. Abrams and J. J. Abrams. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Star Trek Into Darkness was released on 16th May 2013 and takes a screen time of 132 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Star Trek Into Darkness was made on a budget of $190 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $467 million. Cinematography was done by Dan Mindel and editing by Mary Jo Markey and Maryann Brandon. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner Michael Giacchino.
