Spirit

A former banking executive turned journalist in India struggles with alcoholism and defies societal norms, until an encounter with a troubled plumber changes his perspective. Spirit is a 2012 Indian Malayalam-language Comedy Drama motion picture starring Nandhu, Kaniha, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Madhu, Govindankutty, Thilakan and Ganesh Kumar. Aashirvad Cinemas was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Antony Perumbavoor. The motion picture is written and directed by Ranjith Balakrishnan. Maxlab Entertainments acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Spirit was released on 21st June 2012 and takes a screen time of 145 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Spirit was made on a budget of ₹4 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹17 crore. Cinematography was done by Venu and editing by Sandeep Nandakumar. The music was composed by Shahabaz Aman. At the 2013 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Film on Social Issues. At the 2012 It also won an award for Best Actor (Mohanlal Viswanathan).
