A psychologist is sent to a space station to evaluate its research on the planet Solaris, where he discovers the suicide of his friend, encounters mysterious apparitions, and reunites with his deceased wife created by Solaris from his memories, ultimately choosing to stay on Solaris and reuniting with his father. Solaris is a 1972 Russian-language Drama Mystery motion picture featuring Donatas Banionis, Natalya Bondarchuk, J Ri J Rvet, Vladislav Dvorzhetsky, Nikolai Grinko, Anatoly Solonitsyn and Vladimir Zamanskiy. The movie is inspired from Solaris by Stanis aw Lem. Solaris was Produced by Viacheslav Tarasov. Solaris is written by Fridrikh Gorenshtein and Andrei Tarkovsky and it is directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. Mosfilm acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Solaris was released on 26th September 1972 in Russian and German languages and takes a screen time of 166 minutes. Solaris was made on a budget of $1 million. Cinematography was done by Vadim Yusov and editing by Lyudmila Feiginova. The music was composed by Eduard Artemyev.
