Childhood friends from Hells Kitchen endure sexual abuse and torture at a boys home, leading to a plan for revenge and ultimately justice for the guards involved, but not without tragic consequences for some of the friends involved. Sleepers is a 1996 American English-language Crime Drama movie starring Kevin Bacon, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Bruno Kirby, Jason Patric, Brad Pitt and Brad Jacobowitz. The movie is based on Sleepers by Lorenzo Carcaterra. Sleepers was Produced by Barry Levinson and Steve Golin. The movie is directed by Barry Levinson. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Sleepers was released on 13th February 1997 and takes a screen time of 147 minutes. Sleepers was made on a budget of $44 million and at the box office it grossed only $18 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Barry Levinson. Cinematography was done by Michael Ballhaus and editing by Stu Linder. The music was composed by John Williams.
