Sivaji

A software engineer establishes a non-profit trust in India to provide free healthcare and education for the poor, but faces opposition from a politician and businessman who runs profit-making institutions. Sivaji is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language Action Adventure motion picture featuring Rajnikanth, Shriya Saran, Vivek, Suman, Rajinikanth, Ala Aljundi and Uma Padmanabhan. AVM Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) M. S. Guhan and M. Saravanan. Sivaji is written by S. Shankar, Sujatha Rangarajan and Swanand Kirkire and it is directed by S. Shankar. AVM Productions acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Sivaji was released on 15th June 2007 and takes a screen time of 188 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Sivaji was made on a budget of ₹70 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹128 crore. Cinematography was done by K. V. Anand and editing by Anthony Gonsalves. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A. R. Rahman. At the 2008 South Filmfare Awards It won 7 awards including: Best Comic Actor (Vivek), Best Performance by an Actor in a Negative Role (Suman), Best Music Director, Best Comedian, Best Villain, Best Cinematographer and Best Art Director. At the 2008 National Film Awards It also won an award for Best Special Effects.
