A movie adapted from an ancient Bengali mythological story about Sita Devi, highlighting her tragic life struggles and providing insight into her character and experiences, based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. Sita is a 1980 Indian Bengali-language Family film featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Amrita Singh, Sandhya Roy, Ashim Kumar, Robin Banerjee and Anamika Saha. Sita was Produced by Manmohan Desai. Sita is written by Salim Khan and K.k. Shukla and it is directed by Ketan Desai. M.K.D. Films Combine acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The motion picture has a running time of 174 mins. Sita was made on a budget of ₹1 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹12 lakh. Cinematography was done by Peter Pereira and editing by Raju Kapadia and Mangal Mistry. The music was composed by Anu Malik.
