Deepak and Aarti fall in love through a series of letters and chance encounters, despite pressure from family members to marry other people. The movie is inspired from Kadhal Kottai. Narsimha Entertprises in association with Eros International. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Boney Kapoor. Sirf Tum is written by Ahathian, Anees Bazmee and Agathian and it is directed by Ahathian and Agathiyan. Eros International acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Sirf Tum was released on 11th June 1999 and takes a screen time of 171 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Sirf Tum was made on a budget of ₹3 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹5 crore. Cinematography was done by Thangar Bachan and editing by Waman Bhonsle.
