A true crime writer moves his family into a house with a dark past and finds a box of Super 8 films showing different families being killed, leading him to discover a cult initiation rite and ultimately putting his own family in danger, resulting in his daughter becoming a victim of a demonic figure responsible for the murders. Summit Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Sinister was released on 11th October 2012 and takes a screen time of 109 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Sinister was made on a budget of $3 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $82 million. Cinematography was done by Christopher Norr and editing by Fr d ric Thoraval.
