A college student falls in love and misunderstandings arise until a long-lost wife is reunited with her family and tragedy strikes years later. The movie is inspired from Unnai Naan Santhithen by K. Rangaraj. Tinu International Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) A. Krishnamurthy. Sindoor is written by Kader Khan and directed by K. Ravi Shankar and Ravi Shankar. Sindoor was released on 14th August 1987 and takes a screen time of 165 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of ₹8 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Gyandev Agnihotri. Cinematography was done by K. V.
