A couple moves to Tokyo for a photography job, where strange lights in their photos and unexplainable shoulder pain lead them to a psychic who reveals the lights are spirits, eventually uncovering a dark past involving a girl named Megumi, resulting in Bens friends being killed, Megumis death, Janes discovery of mistreatment towards Megumi, her departure, and Bens obsession with finding Megumis spirit leading to his electrocution and ongoing haunting. Shutter is a 2008 American English-language Horror Mystery motion picture starring Joshua Jackson, Rachael Taylor, Megumi Okina, John Hensley, David Denman, James Kyson Lee and Bob Werley. The movie is based on Shutter by Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom. Regency Enterprises in association with New Regency and Vertigo Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Takashige Ichise, Roy Lee and Doug Davison. Shutter is written by Luke Dawson, Parkpoom Wongpoom, Sophon Sakdaphisit, Banjong Pisanthanakun, Paiboon Damrongchaitham, Boosaba Daorueng, Doug Davison, Gloria Fan, Satoshi Fukushima, Richard Guay, Takashige Ichise, Roy Lee, Sonny Mallhi, Arnon Milchan, Visute Poolvoralaks and Yodphet Sudsawad and it is directed by Masayuki Ochiai. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the film. Shutter was released on 27th March 2008 and takes a screen time of 85-90 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Shutter was made on a budget of $8 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $48 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Luke Dawson. Cinematography was done by Katsumi Yanagijima and editing by Michael Knue and Tim Alverson. The music was composed by Nathan Barr.
