Sandi Tan and her friends create an indie road movie in Singapore in 1992, only for their mentor to disappear with all the footage, prompting a two-decade journey for Sandi to recover the lost reels and tell her story using various media formats. Shirkers is a 2018 English-language Documentary Drama film featuring Sandi Tan, Sophia Siddique Harvey, Georges Cardona, Philip Cheah, Ben Harrison, Grace Dane Mazur and Yek Keak Tay. Titmouse Inc was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Maya Rudolph, Sandi Tan and Jessica Levin. The motion picture is written and directed by Sandi Tan. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Shirkers was released on 26th October 2018 and takes a screen time of 96 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Cinematography was done by Iris Ng and editing by Lucas Celler , Sandi Tan and Kimberley Hassett. The music was composed by Ishai Adar. At the 2018 Sundance Film Festival It won an award for World Cinema - Documentary.
