An aspiring actor with the inability to speak, joins forces with a man who has a powerful voice. Together they take the film industry by storm, but will their egos get in the way? Shamitabh is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language Comedy Drama motion picture featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush, Akshara Haasan, Abhinaya, Pete Meads, Rukmini Vijayakumar and Nabeel Ahmed. Hope Productions in association with , Eros International and Saraswati Creations. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ekta Kapoor, Sunil Manchanda, R. Damani, Abhishek Bachchan, Dhanush, Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Lulla, Gauri Shinde, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and R. K. Damani. The movie is written and directed by R. Balki. Eros International acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Shamitabh was released on 5th February 2015 and takes a screen time of 135 minutes. Shamitabh was made on a budget of ₹49 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹21 crore. Cinematography was done by P. C. Sreeram and editing by Hemanti Sarkar. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja.
