Seven warriors come together to protect a village from a diabolical General. Seven Swords is a 2005 Mandarin-language Action Adventure movie featuring Leon Lai, Donnie Yen, Charlie Yeung, Sun Honglei, Lu Yi, Kim So-yeon and Lanji Chen. The movie is based on Qijian Xia Tianshan by Liang Yusheng. Film Workshop was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Tsui Hark, Ma Zhongjun, Lee Joo-ick and Pan Zhizhong. Seven Swords is written by Chi-sing Cheung, Tin Nam Chun, Yusheng Liang and Hark Tsui and it is directed by Hark Tsui and Tsui Hark. Mandarin Films Distribution Co. Ltd. acquired the distribution rights for the film. Seven Swords was released on 4th August 2005 in Mandarin and Korean languages and takes a screen time of 153 minutes. Seven Swords was made on a budget of $18 million and at the box office it grossed only $3 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Tsui Hark, Cheung Chi-sing and Chun Tin-nam. Cinematography was done by Keung Kwok-man, Herman Yau and Choi Shung-fai and editing by Angie Lam. The music was composed by Kenji Kawai.
