Sengathu

An army officer named Mukhil meets a mentally ill girl named Indhu in his village, and after kissing her without consent, he tries to understand her and win her love, but she is distant due to her poor family and responsibilities; determined to uncover the truth, Mukhil threatens suicide until Indhu reveals that she faked her illness to avoid becoming a devadasi, leading Mukhil to confront the responsible people and convince the villagers to abandon the practice, ultimately escaping the village with Indhu. Sengathu is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language Drama film featuring Pawan, Senthil Kumar, Priyanka Nair, Sunu Lakshmi, Singampuli, Nivas and Nishanth. Sengathu was Produced by Revathi Duraimurugan. The movie is directed by M. Rathnakumar. Sengathu was released on 6th October 2006. The music was composed by Srikanth Deva along with Ilayaraaja.
