Maya Vargas, an experienced assistant manager, is overlooked for a promotion due to lacking a college degree, prompting her to create a false online background to secure a new job where she later discovers her boss is the child she gave up for adoption as a teenager. STX Films in association with H. Brothers, TMP and Nuyorican Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Benny Medina, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Zackham, Peter Segal and Elaine Goldsmith-thomas. Second Act is written by Justin Zackham and Elaine Goldsmith-thomas and it is directed by Peter Segal. STX Films acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Second Act was released on 3rd January 2019 and takes a screen time of 104 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Second Act was made on a budget of $16 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $72 million. Cinematography was done by Ueli Steiger and editing by Jason Gourson.
