A struggling guitarist pretends to be his roommate and becomes a substitute teacher at a prep school, where he forms a band with musically talented students to compete in a music competition, helps them overcome their insecurities, and ultimately wins over the crowd, leading to the opening of an after-school program and the rediscovery of his roommates passion for music. School of Rock is a 2003 American English-language Comedy Family movie featuring Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Mike White, Sarah Silverman, Miranda Cosgrove, Adam Pascal and Myriam Blanckaert. Scott Rudin Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Scott Rudin. School of Rock is written by Mike White and directed by Richard Linklater. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. School of Rock was released on 31st December 2003 and takes a screen time of 109 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. School of Rock was made on a budget of $35 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $131 million. Cinematography was done by Rogier Stoffers and editing by Sandra Adair. The music was composed by Craig Wedren.
