Bharat struggles to support his family as a low-paid singer while his brother turns to crime and his girlfriend leaves him for a wealthy businessman, leading him down a path of accepting an offer to make his family rich from a corrupt businessman and being framed and arrested, until he teams up with his brother and friend to stop the corruption and accepts a poor girl as his new love. Roti is a 1974 Indian Hindi-language Drama Romance motion picture featuring Manoj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Moushumi Chatterjee, Rajesh Khanna and Saigal. Chandivali Studio in association with Filmistan Studios, Mohan Studios, R.K. Studios and Rajkamal Studios. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Manoj Kumar. Roti is written by Akhtar-ul-iman, Smt. Jeevanprabha M. Desai, Kader Khan, K.b. Pathak, Prayag Raj and Manoj Kumar and it is directed by Manmohan Desai and Manoj Kumar. V.I.P. Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Roti was released on 11th October 1974 and takes a screen time of 161 mins. The motion picture made a box office gross of ₹5 crore. Cinematography was done by Nariman A. Irani and editing by Manoj Kumar. The music was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar along with Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma and Laxmikant Pyarelal.
