Rockstar is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language Drama Musical motion picture starring Ranbir Kapoor, Nargis Fakhri, Shammi Kapoor, Shernaz Patel, Piyush Mishra, Aditi Rao Hydari and Ranveer Kashyap. Eros International in association with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Sunil Lulla and Dhilin Mehta. Rockstar is written by Imtiaz Ali and Muazzam Beg and it is directed by Imtiaz Ali. Eros International acquired the distribution rights for the film. Rockstar was released on 11th November 2011 and takes a screen time of 159 minutes. Rockstar was made on a budget of ₹66 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹68 crore. Cinematography was done by Anil Mehta and editing by Aarti Bajaj. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A. R. Rahman. At the 2012 IIFA Awards It won an award for Best Background Score. At the 2012 IIFA Awards It also won 4 awards including: Best Actor in a Leading Role (Ranbir Kapoor), Best Music Director, Best Lyricist and Best Playback Singer - Male. At the 2012 IIFA Awards It also won an award for Star Plus Hottest Pair. At the 2012 Filmfare Awards It also won an award for Best Actor (Ranbir Kapoor).
