Excel Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Rock On 2 is written by Abhishek Kapoor, Pubali Chaudhuri and Farhan Akhtar and it is directed by Shujaat Saudagar and Abhishek Kapoor. Eros International acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Rock On 2 was released on 10th November 2016 and takes a screen time of 143 minutes. Rock On 2 was made on a budget of ₹45 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹10 crore. Cinematography was done by Marc Koninckx and editing by Anand Subaya. The music was composed by Shankar Mahadevan along with Loy Mendonsa, Ehsaan Noorani and Shankar-ehsaan-loy.
