In 1714 Scotland, Robert Roy MacGregor becomes an outlaw after refusing to falsely accuse a rival for a loan, faces escalating violence against his clan, and ultimately confronts and defeats his enemy in a duel, reclaiming his honor and pledging to care for his wifes child. Rob Roy is a 1995 American English-language Adventure Biography movie featuring Liam Neeson, Jessica Lange, John Hurt, Tim Roth, Eric Stoltz, Brian Cox and Alice Williams. United Artists was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Peter Broughan and Richard Jackson. The movie is directed by Michael Caton-jones. MGM/UA Distribution Co. acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The film has a running time of 139 minutes. Rob Roy was made on a budget of $28 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $31 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Alan Sharp. Cinematography was done by Karl Walter Lindenlaub and editing by Peter Honess. The music was composed by Carter Burwell.
