Dorothy and her new companions, Socrates, Rusty, and Dandy, return to Oz to save her friends and seek help from the Wizard, facing obstacles and the Wicked Witchs evil spells along the way, all while relying on Dorothys magical shoes as a symbol of hope. Return to Oz is a 1964 Indian English-language Animation Family motion picture featuring Nicol Williamson, Jean Marsh, Piper Laurie, Fairuza Balk, Larry D. Mann, Alfie Scopp and Susan Conway. The movie is inspired from The Marvelous Land of Oz and Ozma of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Walt Disney Pictures in association with Silver Screen Partners II. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Paul Maslansky. Return to Oz is written by Romeo Muller and L. Frank Baum and it is directed by F.r. Crawley, Thomas Glynn and Walter Murch. Buena Vista Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Return to Oz was released on 9th February 1964 and takes a screen time of 113 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Return to Oz was made on a budget of $24 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $36 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Walter Murch and Gill Dennis. Cinematography was done by David Watkin and Freddie Francis and editing by Leslie Hodgson. The music was composed by David Shire.
