A struggling journalist, Erik Kernan Jr., tries to improve his sports coverage while dealing with personal issues, but later realizes he made a mistake in writing an article about a boxer impersonator, leading to a lawsuit, but eventually makes amends and finds happiness knowing his son will be proud of him. Resurrecting the Champ is a 2007 American English-language Drama Sport movie starring Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Hartnett, Kathryn Morris, Alan Alda, Rachel Nichols, David Paymer and Trevor Woroby. The movie is inspired from Resurrecting the Champ by J. R. Moehringer. Phoenix Pictures in association with Alberta Film Entertainment, Battleplan Productions and Yari Film Group. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mike Medavoy, Bob Yari, Marc Frydman and Rod Lurie. Resurrecting the Champ is written by Michael Bortman, Allison Burnett and J.r. Moehringer and it is directed by Rod Lurie. Yari Film Group acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Resurrecting the Champ was released on 3rd August 2007 and takes a screen time of 112 minutes.
