The movie is inspired from Requiem for a Dream by Hubert Selby Jr. Thousand Words in association with Protozoa Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Eric Watson and Palmer West. Requiem for a Dream is written by Hubert Selby Jr. and Darren Aronofsky and it is directed by Darren Aronofsky. Artisan Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the movie.
