A lonely widow, her son, his girlfriend, and their friend face a series of tragedies as their lives spiral out of control due to addiction, crime, and deteriorating mental health. Requiem for a Dream is a 2000 American English-language Drama movie featuring Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, Marlon Wayans, Christopher Mcdonald, Louise Lasser and Tony Waag. The movie is inspired from Requiem for a Dream by Hubert Selby Jr. Thousand Words in association with Protozoa Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Eric Watson and Palmer West. Requiem for a Dream is written by Hubert Selby Jr. and Darren Aronofsky and it is directed by Darren Aronofsky. Artisan Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Requiem for a Dream was released on 12th July 2001 and takes a screen time of 101 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Requiem for a Dream was made on a budget of $4 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $7 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Hubert Selby Jr. and Darren Aronofsky. Cinematography was done by Matthew Libatique and editing by Jay Rabinowitz. The music was composed by Clint Mansell.
