Raiders of the Lost Ark

An American archaeologist named Indiana Jones retrieves a valuable artifact in Peru, gets involved in a race against the Nazis to find the Ark of the Covenant, reunites with a friend and a mentors daughter, recovers the Ark but gets captured by their rival, and eventually escapes and stores the Ark in a warehouse. Raiders of the Lost Ark is a 1981 American English-language Action Adventure movie featuring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Paul Freeman, Ronald Lacey, John Rhys-davies, Denholm Elliott and Paul Weston. Lucasfilm Ltd. was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Frank Marshall. Raiders of the Lost Ark is written by Lawrence Kasdan, George Lucas and Philip Kaufman and it is directed by Steven Spielberg. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Raiders of the Lost Ark was released on 25th December 1981 and takes a screen time of 115 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Raiders of the Lost Ark was made on a budget of $18 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $389 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Lawrence Kasdan. Cinematography was done by Douglas Slocombe and editing by Michael Kahn. The music was composed by John Williams. At the 1982 Oscar Awards It won 4 awards including: Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Sound, Best Film Editing and Best Effects, Visual Effects.
