Tips Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ramesh S Taurani. Race 2 is written by Shiraz Ahmed and Kiran Kotrial and it is directed by Abbas Alibhai Burmawalla, Mastan Alibhai Burmawalla and Abbas Mustan. UTV Motion pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Race 2 was released on 25th January 2013 and takes a screen time of 145 minutes. Race 2 was made on a budget of ₹94 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹93 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Shiraz Ahmed. Cinematography was done by Ravi Yadav and editing by Hussain Burmawala. The music was composed by Pritam Chakraborty along with Salim - Sulaiman.
