Raavan

The story follows a Naxalite named Beera Munda and his gang as they create havoc, kidnap the wife of ASP Dev Pratap Sharma, and clash with Dev and his team, ultimately leading to a dramatic and tragic outcome. Raavan is a 1984 Indian Hindi-language Drama Family film featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Govinda, Nikhil Dwivedi, Ravi Kishan, Priyamani and M.k. Nawab. Madras Talkies was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Johny Bakshi, Mani Ratnam and Sharada Trilok. Raavan is written by Vijay Krishna Acharya and directed by Johny Bakshi and Mani Ratnam. Reliance BIG Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Raavan was released on 28th September 1984 and takes a screen time of 131 minutes. Raavan was made on a budget of ₹55 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹28 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Mani Ratnam. Cinematography was done by Santosh Sivan and V. Manikandan and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. The music was composed by Jagjit Singh along with A. R. Rahman.
