The movie is inspired from Public Enemies: America s Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI 1933 34 by Bryan Burrough. Relativity Media in association with Forward Pass, Misher Films and TriBeCa Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Michael Mann and Kevin Misher. Public Enemies is written by Ronan Bennett, Michael Mann, Ann Biderman and Bryan Burrough and it is directed by Michael Mann. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Public Enemies was released on 23rd July 2009 and takes a screen time of 140 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Public Enemies was made on a budget of $100 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $214 million.
