Its just too dull to appreciate, even on an ironic level, because Pine never elevates the material with the type of over the top comedy that it perhaps needs in order to at least be memorable. ( Read More )

    • Brian Orndorf

Perhaps it classifies as a vanity project, with Pine making himself the center of attention in this Southern California detective story, portraying a man who lives in his own world suddenly facing the corruption and violence of the real world. ( Read More )

    • John Serba

But Pine struggles to find a tone with Poolman that isnt grating or bewildering, and the overarching story of local greed and corruption is so inconsequential and muddled, it gives us absolutely no incentive to give a damn. ( Read More )

    • Abe Friedtanzer

There is a great deal of intrigue but just as much baffling confusion, revealing a film with tremendous potential that makes selective use of its assets for a hypnotic but ultimately chaotic viewing experience. ( Read More )

Its fun! Yes, I was almost pushed to the edge a few times, but its fun if you dont expect too much. ( Read More )
