The movie is based on Ode to My Father by Yoon Je-kyoon. Reel Life Productions in association with Salman Khan Films and T-Series. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Reshma Shaikh, Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Nikhil Namit and Salman Khan. Platform No. 2 is written by Ali Abbas Zafar and Varun V. Sharma and it is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. AA Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie.
