A group of individuals hired to explore the Venezuelan jungle encounter danger when nearby rivers become infested with flesh-eating piranhas, forcing them to work together to survive. Piranha is a 1978 American English-language Comedy Horror motion picture starring Bradford Dillman, Heather Menzies, Kevin Mccarthy, Keenan Wynn, Barbara Steele, Dick Miller and Phil Tippett. Piranha Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jon Davison. The movie is directed by Joe Dante. New World Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Piranha was released on 3rd August 1978 and takes a screen time of 95 minutes. Piranha was made on a budget of $770 billion and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Sayles. Cinematography was done by Jamie Anderson and editing by Joe Dante and Mark Goldblatt. The music was composed by Pino Donaggio.
