Russia, early 90s. A fictional story inspired by financier Sergey Mavrodi, his securities company MMM, and the pyramid scheme he ran that left upwards of fifteen million investors with nothing when it crashed. PiraMMMida is a 2011 Russian-language Crime Drama motion picture starring Aleksei Serebryakov, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Pyotr Fyodorov, Aleksey Serebryakov, Fedor Bondarchuk, Ekaterina Vilkova and Sergey Chonishvili. Leopolis was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Sergei Livnev and Lev Nikolau. PiraMMMida is written by Sergei Krainev and Makism Vasilenko and it is directed by Eldar Salavatov. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. PiraMMMida was released on 7th April 2011 and takes a screen time of 105 minutes. PiraMMMida was made on a budget of $2 million and at the box office it grossed only $1 million. Cinematography was done by Goran Pavicevic. The music was composed by Vladimir Osinskiy along with Pavel Esenin.
