The movie is inspired from The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. Filmation was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Lou Scheimer. Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night is written by Robby London, Barry O brien, Dennis O flaherty and Carlo Collodi and it is directed by Hal Sutherland. New World Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night was released on 6th August 1987 and takes a screen time of 87 minutes.
