Pieces of a Woman

A tragic drama film Pieces of a Woman revolves around Martha whose life turns for the worst after home birth ends in tragedy. After this incident, her relationship with her husband Sean Carson cracks and she also has to face the vilified midwife in court. The film stars Vanessa Kirby, Shia LaBeouf, Molly Parker, Sarah Snook, Iliza Shlesinger, Benny Safdie, Jimmie Fails, and Ellen Burstyn. The filming took place in Canada and Norway. The screenplay was written by Kata Wéber and it was directed by Kornél Mundruczó. The film was produced by Kevin Turen, Ashley Levinson, and Aaron Ryder for Bron Studios, Little Lamb, and Creative Wealth Media and was distributed by Netflix. Interestingly the birth scene which is shown for thirty minutes in the film alone took two days to shoot. The music was composed by Howard Shore. Adept cinematography by Benjamin Loeb and clear cut editing by Dávid Jancsó makes it a watchable movie. The film was released on 7 January 2021 and occupies screentime of 128 minutes. An R certificate for the movie was provided by the MPAA.
