In NYC s Chinatown, recluse math genius Max (Sean Gullette) believes everything can be understood in terms of numbers, and he looks for a pattern in the system as he suffers headaches, plays Go with former teacher Sol Robeson (Mark Margolis), and fools around with an advanced computer system he s built in his apartment. Both a Wall Street company and a Hasidic sect take an interest in his work, but he s distracted by blackout attacks, hallucinations, and paranoid delusions. Pi is a 1998 American English-language Drama Horror film starring Sean Gullette, Mark Margolis, Ben Shenkman, Samia Shoaib, Pamela Hart, Ajay Naidu and Sal Monte. Protozoa Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Eric Watson and Scott Vogel. The movie is directed by Darren Aronofsky. Artisan Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Pi was released on 10th July 1998 and takes a screen time of 84 minutes. Pi was made on a budget of $1270 million and at the box office it grossed only $3 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Darren Aronofsky. Cinematography was done by Matthew Libatique and editing by Oren Sarch. The music was composed by Clint Mansell.
