A successful lawyer with AIDS fights against discrimination in his law firm and wins his case with the support of an initially reluctant African-American lawyer. Philadelphia is a 1993 American English-language Drama movie starring Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Jason Robards, Mary Steenburgen, Antonio Banderas, Roberta Maxwell and Ned Martin. Clinica Estetico was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jonathan Demme and Edward Saxon. Philadelphia is written by Ron Nyswaner and directed by Jonathan Demme. TriStar Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Philadelphia was released on 31st December 1993 and takes a screen time of 126 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Philadelphia was made on a budget of $26 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $206 million. Cinematography was done by Tak Fujimoto and editing by Craig McKay. The music was composed by Howard Shore. At the 1994 Oscar Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Actor in a Leading Role (Tom Hanks) and Best Music, Original Song. At the 1994 Berlin International Film Festival It also won an award for Best Actor (Tom Hanks).
