Ram C. M., a womanizing pilot, falls in love with Mythili but they face misunderstandings due to Rams involvement with his friends ex-girlfriend; while trying to distract him, his friends hire a prostitute named Maggie who is mistakenly believed to be dead, leading to the discovery of diamonds that they keep a secret, until Maggie reveals her plan to blackmail Ram and kidnaps him along with Mythili and their friends, resulting in Mythili swallowing the diamonds and attempting suicide, but with the help of the police, Ram saves her and they reconcile. Panchathanthiram is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language Comedy Drama movie starring Kamal Haasan, Simran, Ramesh Aravind, Yugi Sethu, Sriman, Ramya Krishnan and Satyanarayana Kaikala. Sri Rajlakshmi Film Ltd was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) P. L. Thenappan. Panchathanthiram is written by Crazy Mohan and Kamal Haasan and it is directed by K.s. Ravikumar and K. S. Ravikumar. Raaj Kamal Films International acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Panchathanthiram was released on 28th June 2002 and takes a screen time of 148 minutes.
