This is a tale of a boy from a poor family in suburban West Delhi who, fueled by thrill rather than need, becomes a notorious robber, targeting the wealthy in multiple Indian cities, until he is finally apprehended by Special Crime Branch Inspector Devender Singh, reflecting on his life choices, as the story explores his childhood, his fathers remarriage, his siblings, his descent into a life of crime, his association with Gogi Arora, his love story and marriage with Sonal, and his eventual betrayal by his hanger-on and business partner, with the media perplexed by his ability to steal a wide range of items across different cities. Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! is written by Dibakar Banerjee, Urmi Juvekar and Manu Rishi Chadha and it is directed by Dibakar Banerjee. UTV Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Oye Lucky!
