Oridathu

Set in a remote village in Kerala during the reorganisation of Indian states in the 1950s, the story follows the efforts of the village to bring electricity to their community, but as it arrives, disillusionment and misfortunes cause death, betrayal, and tragedy, ultimately leading to the loss of innocence for a young boy and symbolizing the potential danger and destruction of society amidst progress. Oridathu is a 1987 Indian Malayalam-language Drama film featuring Nedumudi Venu, Sreenivasan, Thilakan, Vineeth, Krishnankutty Nair, Chandran Nair and Radhamani. Suryakanti Film Makers was the production house involved in the project. Oridathu is written by Govindan Aravindan, Shaji N. Karun and G. Aravindan and it is directed by Govindan Aravindan and G. Aravindan. Oridathu was released on 29th May 1987 and takes a screen time of 112 minutes. Cinematography was done by Shaji N. Karun and editing by K.R. Bose. The music was composed by Hariprasad Chaurasia along with Rajeev Taranath and Latif Ahmed.
