A young woman named Taeko travels to the countryside to visit her sisters in-laws, and as she reminisces about her childhood and evaluates her life choices, she develops a deep connection with a man named Toshio, ultimately choosing to stay in the countryside with him. Only Yesterday is a 1991 Japanese Japanese-language Animation Drama film starring Miki Imai, Toshir Yanagiba, Y Ko Honna, Toshirô Yanagiba, Yoko Honna, Mayumi Izuka and Daisy Ridley. The movie is inspired from Omoide Poro Poro by Hotaru Okamoto Yuko Tone. Studio Ghibli was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Toshio Suzuki. The movie is directed by Isao Takahata. Toho acquired the distribution rights for the film. Only Yesterday was released on 20th July 1991 and takes a screen time of 118 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $0 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Isao Takahata. Cinematography was done by Hisao Shirai and editing by Takeshi Seyama. The music was composed by Katz Hoshi.
