A 12-year-old girl is sent to the country for health reasons, where she meets an unlikely friend in the form of Marnie, a young girl with long, flowing blonde hair. As the friendship unravels it is possible that Marnie has closer ties to the protagonist than we might expect. Written by David On Omoide no Mânî is a 2014 Japanese Japanese-language Comedy Animation movie featuring Sara Takatsuki, Kasumi Arimura, Chris Stuckmann, Nanako Matsushima, Susumu Terajima, Toshie Negishi and Vanessa Williams. The movie is inspired from When Marnie Was There by Joan G. Robinson. Studio Ghibli was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Yoshiaki Nishimura. The movie is directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi. Toho acquired the distribution rights for the film. Omoide no Mânî was released on 19th July 2014 and takes a screen time of 103 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Omoide no Mânî was made on a budget of ₹115 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of $3 billion. The screenplay for the movie was written by Masashi And , Keiko Niwa and Hiromasa Yonebayashi. Cinematography was done by Atsushi Okuo and editing by Rie Matsubara. The music was composed by Takatsugu Muramatsu.
