A young girl named Marie receives a broken nutcracker as a gift, and when she checks on it at midnight, it comes to life and leads her in a battle against mice before transforming into a prince and taking her to the Land of Sweets. The film has a running time of 92 minutes. Nutcracker, The was made on a budget of $19 million and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. Cinematography was done by Ralf D. Bode and editing by Girish Bhargava. The music was composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
