Alex, a boy from Brooklyn, becomes trapped in an apartment with a witch named Natacha who forces him to read scary stories each night or face death, but with the help of a fellow victim named Yasmin, they discover Natachas evil plans and ultimately defeat a witch to survive, though Natachas evil laughter suggests the danger is not yet over. Nightbooks is a 2021 American English-language Family Fantasy motion picture starring Winslow Fegley, Lidya Jewett, Krysten Ritter, Jess Brown, Mathieu Bourassa, Cleo and Jeremy Ray Taylor. The movie is inspired from Nightbooks by J. A. White. Nightbooks was Produced by Sam Raimi, Romel Adam, Mason Novick and Michelle Knudsen. The movie is directed by David Yarovesky. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the film. Nightbooks was released on 15th September 2021 and takes a screen time of 103 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. Cinematography was done by Robert McLachlan and editing by Peter Gvozdas. The music was composed by Michael Abels.
