A crime lord ascends to power and becomes megalomaniacal while a maverick police detective vows to stop him. New Jack City is a 1991 American English-language Action Crime motion picture featuring Wesley Snipes, Ice-t, Chris Rock, Mario Van Peebles, Judd Nelson, Allen Payne and Jimmy Cummings. New Jack City was Produced by Doug Mchenry and George Jackson. New Jack City is written by Thomas Lee Wright and Barry Michael Cooper and it is directed by Mario Van Peebles. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. New Jack City was released on 8th March 1991 and takes a screen time of 100 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. New Jack City was made on a budget of $8 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $47 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Thomas Lee Wright and Barry Michael Cooper. Cinematography was done by Francis Kenny and editing by Steven Kemper. The music was composed by Vassal Benford along with Michel Colombian.
